Our Strategy

ACE utilizes a “push up” strategy instead of the traditional “pull up” strategy.

We guide from the side, they do the work.

Students Will:

  • Stand on the shoulders of ACE coaches, using their own strength to pull themselves up and over the wall
  • Implement hands-on strategies in a learning lab environment
  • Take responsibility for their development while learning how to navigate academic and personal challenges.
  • Own their own accomplishments, and are able to say, “I did it”
  • Students enrolled in colleges across the country. Extended reach; virtual one-to-one coaching.
  • Students experience Onboarding 4-10 weeks before college or during winter break
  • Goal: Graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Calls and agenda are student-driven
  • Self-Directed
  • Independent
  • Empower
  • Coach uses inquiry method; students problem solve
  • Students “own” their development
  • Shared responsibilities between students and coaches
  • We guide from the side
  • Students are usually enrolled at the same college. Limited reach; face-to-face coaching.
  • Bridge programs can be separate or in conjunction with first year seminar
  • Goal: Graduate but with an unstated GPA target
  • Calls and agenda are coach-driven
  • Directed
  • Co-Dependent or Dependent
  • Enable
  • Coaches direct and provide solutions/answers
  • Coaches “own” it
