5…4….3…2…1…Happy New Year!
Hopefully, you’ve spent some time reflecting on the past year and thinking about the year ahead. Whether you are a first-year student or approaching your last semester of college, it is important to discover your unique strengths and how they shape your relationships with other people. Gaining clarity to your life as a student helps you thrive academically, socially and in your future career. You will aim your purpose at greater performance, focusing on your greatest opportunities for development and success.
I am both an ACE Coach and a Certified Gallup CliftonStrengths Coach. As an additional benefit, ACE offers CliftonStrengths to ACE Scholars who need support or guidance determining their strengths. Through this assessment, students can gain confidence and enhance their learning experiences as they build an understanding of their strengths.
So, what exactly is Clifton Strengths?
Gallup CliftonStrengths is a powerful assessment that provides self-awareness on how to best contribute to team and leadership opportunities and the language to articulate your worth through your career journey. The three key values for utilizing CliftonStrengths are:
1. Career Fit
Knowing where your strengths lie can help place you in roles that make the most of your strengths. When strengths are utilized, you are not only more productive and innovative, but you are also more likely to be engaged, energized, and happy at work.
2. Collaboration
When working together on a project, it is beneficial to have a variety of strengths present on the team. It’s also helpful as team members know about each other’s talents, they can gain a better understanding of why certain people behave in certain ways.
3. Self-Awareness
On an individual level, having an awareness of one’s own strengths is highly beneficial. The more a person knows about themselves, the more easily they can direct their personal and professional life to ensure they are successful.
ACE Students interested in exploring their strengths should email me at [email protected] and copy their coach so we can schedule a time to set up a call. I look forward to coaching you to your fullest potential!
